The Musicians
Simon Bates (Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute)
Hosting the afternoons, Simon is known and respected for his stylistic versatility and instrumental prowess. He is in great demand on the London session scene - his playing features on countless adverts, film scores, theme tunes and pop recordings. Simon has appeared live and recorded with a wide variety of bands and musicians including John Dankworth, Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, Dizzee Rascal, Elvis Costello, Jamie Cullum, Shane MacGowan, Lulu, Rick Wakeman, D:Ream, Chaka Khan, Emma Bunton, Seal, The Zappatistas and Peter Erskine and been the Musical Director for Rick Astley and Bette Midler. Simon appears frequently on television. You may have seen him in programmes such as ‘The Parkinson Show’ and he ran the 9-piece band on the Johnny Vaughan Tonight Show. Simon is the Professor of Saxophone for the Royal Marines and has featured as a guest soloist with large ensembles including the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and The Royal Marines Big Band. Paul ‘Harry’ Harris (Piano)
Harry plays regularly for Radio 2’s ‘Friday night is Music Night’, features in various TV shows and has accompanied just about everybody in the business from Englebert Humperndink and Charlotte Church to David Bowie and James Belushi via Elvis Costello and opera star Sir Willard White as well as being musical director for top of the bill acts at the Moulin Rouge in his early twenties and subsequently going on to work with performers as diverse as Rick Astley, Phill Jupitus, Max Bygraves, The Opera Babes, Fay Presto and literally scores of others.
He appeared recently on BBC Radio 3 taking requests from a live audience to play any tune in the style of the composer of their choice to rapturous acclaim and prompted the comment from astonished presenter Brian Kaye 'How does he do it?'. Visit www.harrythepiano.com for further information.

Paul’s virtuoso technique and solid swinging style has led him to work with a wide array of artists including Zoot Sims, Peggy Lee, Ronnie Scott and the New Jazz Couriers. He was the bass player for the Don Lusher’s Big Band and the principal bass of the BBC Radio Orchestra.

Bobby Worth (Drums)
British Jazz Awards winner Bobby has worked with a who’s who of jazz. Recently seen backing Barbara Streisand on her TV interview with Jonathan Ross other’s he has worked with include George Melly, Digby Fairweather, Herb Geller, Bob Wilber, Kenny Davern, Spike Robinson and he also appeared as a drumming Pudsey on Children in Need!

Paul’s flexibility has led to a varied career, including BBC Scottish Radio Orchestra, the BBC Radio Orchestra and BBC Big Band, as well as leading artists from Pavarotti to Rod Stewart via Shirley Bassey, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Connick Jnr, and Queen.
